Stainless Steel Tube Fiber Unit
Product Overview
The fiber unit is the optical core that goes inside OPGW and OPPC conductors. It uses a single-layer tube of type 316 non-magnetic stainless steel, laser welded along its length, with material properties in line with international specifications for 316 non-magnetic stainless steel. The tube is filled with a water-blocking fiber gel. Because the fibers are hermetically enclosed in a metallic tube with controlled excess length, the unit survives the stranding, pulling and thermal cycling of overhead line installation while keeping stable optical performance.
