Soft Optical Cable Types

Soft optical fiber cable is available in several constructions. The main types are listed below.

GYXTW Optical Fiber Cables

The cable consists of a PBT loose tube placed in the center, wrapped with a layer of double-side plastics-coated corrugated steel tape. Two steel wires are placed parallel to each other in the PE sheath as strength members. The loose tube is made of temperature-stable material, in which several single-mode or multi-mode fibers with proper excess length are placed, and the tube is fully filled with water-proof filling jelly for fiber protection.

GYXTA Optical Fiber Cables

The cable consists of a PBT loose tube placed in the center, wrapped with several medium-carbon phosphated steel wires; the gaps between the wires are filled with water-proof filling compound. Outside the steel wires are water-swellable tapes and a layer of double-side plastics-coated aluminum tape, and finally a PE sheath is extruded. The loose tube is made of temperature-stable material holding several single-mode or multi-mode fibers with proper excess length, fully filled with water-proof filling jelly for fiber protection.

GYTS Optical Fiber Cables

A metal strength member is placed in the center of the cable; several loose tubes (or partly fillers) are stranded outside the central strength member, and the gaps between the loose tubes are filled with water-proof filling compound. The cable core is wrapped with a corrugated plastics-coated steel tape, and a PE sheath is extruded outside. For cables with a large fiber count, an additional layer of PE is usually extruded outside the central strength member. The loose tube is made of temperature-stable material holding several single-mode or multi-mode fibers with proper excess length, filled with water-proof filling jelly for fiber protection.

BOW-TIE Shape Optical Fiber Drop Cable for Access Network

A non-metallic reinforced drop cable for FTTH access networks, with a bow-tie (butterfly) cross-section that is easy to strip and terminate by hand, suitable for indoor and outdoor last-mile connections.
